Japanese hardware leader Murata and Israeli startup The Elegant Monkeys announced today a strategic partnership to digitize human emotions

The global Japanese hardware enterprise Murata Manufacturing and the Israeli startup The Elegant Monkeys are announcing today a multi-million dollar strategic partnership with the goal of bringing a new vision to the world: the ability to digitize human emotions and mental states.

 

The Elegant Monkeys’ technology is laying the foundation for a next generation of artificial intelligence –artificial emotions. Synergizing unique sensing methods with software learning capabilities will createintelligent mapping of the human emotional spectrum to a wide verity of healthcare applications. “With themodern culture becoming increasingly stressful, adding a new layer of mental-based protection is already ofthe essence”, said Nimrod Kramer, VP Product at The Elegant Monkeys. 

 

Additionally, with the Internet of Things (IoT) expanding at a rapid pace, the demand for innovative products is unprecedented. Murata is at the forefront of this challenge developing and nurturing new technologies by integrating Murata’s state-of-the-art products such as sensors and communication modules, with the brain power of Israel’s leading high tech industry.

Both companies first met during the 1 st Murata Hackathon conducted by Samurai Incubate in Tel-Aviv(November 2015), where The Elegant Monkeys won first place among eleven carefully selected teams.Winning the hackathon resulted in this exceptional business collaboration which includes a multi-milliondollars financing and a unique joint R&D between a seed-stage Israeli startup and a worldwide Japanese enterprise.

 

The process was accompanied by Mr. Kentaro Sakakibara and Mr. Yony Golan of Samurai Incubate, who are relentlessly pursuing the creation of an economic bridge between Israeli and Japanese industries. “The cooperation between Japan’s greatest enterprises and Israel’s startups is natural”, explained Golan. “While different in business culture, the Japanese enterprises and Israeli startups share an innovative spirit, far sight and an objective-oriented mindset. I believe The Elegant Monkeys is a great fit for the Japanese market, and hope this significant deal will pave the way for many others to come”.
